Pucker Up!

Projected annual cost of stadium maintenance: 6 million dollars.

Student fees will pay for most of stadium. Student fees are expected to be increased to $200.00 per student by 2014. (Only 7,000 stadium seats will be reserved for students).

The Athletics department's budget jumped from $13.5 million to this year's $17.0 million. By 2013, the athletic department's budget will be increased to $19.0 million.

UNCC wants to have a corporate name for the stadium. (Price tag: $5.0 million for 10-13 years).

The new football team will play as a lower-level independent team until it meets certain benchmarks which include filling every seat in the fifteen thousand person capacity stadium by 2015.

It gives one pause, huh? You may not be able to get a free ticket to see a game, but you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that UNCC is the school that YOU built!

The stadium is as uncomfortable as my high school's. What a waste. Why are scalpers allowed to ply their trade on N. Tryon? How do they get so many tickets?
